Blue Whale Club

The Blue Whale Club was launched at Oi China 2013, and aims to advance the development of marine science and technology and to promote international cooperation. The programme matches it’s members, who are buyers and procurement specialists in the marine technology and engineering equipment industry, with appropriate suppliers at the event.

The exclusive Blue Whale Club gathers high-quality maritime buyers in China. To join the club, the candidate must go through an application process, and fulfill all pre-set requirements. Every year, over 300 procurement decision makers with clear procurement power among more than 20,000 persons in the China Maritime Professional Database can become Blue Whale Club members and enjoy access to this exclusive service.

During the show, Blue Whale Club members are identified by a special badge, which gives access to the Blue Whale Club lounge.

Bureau Directors, Department Chiefs, Section Chiefs, Directors of Research Institutes, Centre Directors, Chief Engineers, Senior Engineers, Engineers, Professors and Researchers with a clear procurement power and decision-making authority for purchase. Members of the marine technology and engineering equipment industry can become members of the Blue Whale Club by submitting an Application Form and passing our assessment based on their position, purchasing power and amount.

It’s expected that Oi China 2018 will bring together over 300 Blue Whale Club members from almost 100 organizations, and that the member list will be preliminarily determined in September.
In response to demand from both buyers and suppliers, the Blue Whale Club will act as an intermediary between suppliers and buyers who are interested in relevant marine products and services. This matchmaking service is only for exhibitors. During the show, we will help you find intended buyers and establish new cooperative relationships with them.

With a focus on the buyer's top 9 product procurement needs, over 1,000 one-to-one meetings were arranged between buyers and exhibiting companies in 2017

Blue Whale Time is a set of social activities for Blue Whale Club members throughout the year. It aims to build business connections between exhibitors and buyers, as well as providing opportunities for exhibitors to learn about their buyer needs when not onsite. Oi China has held over 10 Blue Whale Time dinners in Qingdao, Shanghai, Hangzhou and Guangzhou, attended by hundreds of high quality buyers with procurement decision-making authority including Bureau Chief, Department Chief, Center Director and General Engineer in the marine industry.
