OI China 2016 Conference Forum

Now in its fourth edition, the Oceanology International China Conference is supported by the Ocean Observing Branch of the Chinese Society of Oceanography and is presented in partnership with the Society for Underwater Technology.

Developed with government and industry associations, the Oceanology International China Conference will connect the latest marine science and ocean technology solutions with China's rapidly developing offshore energy & marine industries. The conference will consist of presentations on the latest R&D projects, technology developments, applications and best practices for marine science and engineering.

 Professor Ralph Rayner(Plenary Chairman, OI China), US IOOS Industry Liaison, NOAA and Chairman, Sonardyne 

Ralph Rayner is US IOOS Industry Liaison, NOAA and Chairman, Sonardyne. He holds advisory roles with the UK and US governments and is a professorial research fellow at the London School of Economics.
Ralph has over thirty years of experience in the development and coordination of ocean observation and forecasting at global, regional and local scales. He is a former chair of the Global Ocean Observing Committee Steering Committee and serves on a number of specialist ocean observing groups including those of the Society for Underwater Technology, the Marine Technology Society and IMarEST - the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology.
Ralph has an MSc in Underwater Science and Technology and a PhD in physical oceanography. He has authored numerous scientific and technical papers and reports, is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Operational Oceanography and serves on the editorial boards of International Underwater Systems Design and the Journal of the Society for Underwater Technology.
